The Legend of Ur
Legends speak of a renowned fya by the name of Ur who is said to be the ancestor of all modern fyasel.
It is said that Ur lived in the time before fyasel, before humans gained the ability to shift into the form of various animals. Ur is said to have been a man with the unique ability to take on the form of any creature and had many strange powers that were the precursors to the modern makik.
Ur fathered 17 children who were each born with the ability to take on the form of one animal, held a single makik, and each could control one of the primary Heiun elements. Each child became of his own tribe which was known as "Ur-(name of the son)". Over time, the tribes were united by Ideran and the country was named "Ur-ktan", the legacy of Ur.
While many modern fyasel dispute the accuracy of these legends - mainly because there are more animals for a fya's feral form than there were children of Ur - most modern fyasel still believe in the existence of the tribes and some still identify with their ancestral tribe.

The Tribes of Ur
These are the tribes of Ur.
By modern times, it has become increasingly more uncommon for the feral species and eye colors to match the appearance of the tribe as these genetics change more easily through intermarrying.
