Fyasel
Fyasel (plural for fya) are the dominant species of Eldeth, the name of the world the Aeon series takes place in.
Fyasel have one human form and one animal form, where the human form is the primary form for the species as a whole. Fyasel cannot have more than one animal or human form, though there have been legends of fyasel who could take on multiple forms.
Many fyasel still prefer to use their animal forms over their human form, but cities and houses are usually set up for the human form since those forms are all around the same size while the size of feral forms can vary greatly and it is difficult to make buildings to accommodate some of the larger shifts. The feral form of a fya will usually follow the form of its parents. If both parents have a fox form for their animal form, the child will have a fox form. If one parent had a fox form and the other had a dragon form, the child will usually be either a fox or a dragon instead of a hybrid of the two. It is possible, though extremely rare, for the child of such parents to have a hybrid animal form. It is also possible, but rarer, for a child to be born with a animal form that does not match the species of either parent, so long as it an animal rooted in their genetics and from a close generation. For example, if both parents have a fox form, but one of the grandparents had a wolf form, it is possible for a child to be born with a wolf form. |
The average lifespan of a fya is the same as that of a human.
The senses for both human and feral forms depend of the feral shift a fya is able to take on. Though when in human form, the senses will usually somewhat dull or enhance (depending on the feral species) to more closely reflect the form they are in. The most common species for a fya's feral form are canines and felines, though other predatory animals such as birds of prey and reptiles are also rather common. Non-predatory animals such as horses and oryxs are quite rare, but not completely unheard of. |
The only known forms that it is impossible for fyasel to have as their feral shift are gazelles and Jchita dragons. This is because those are the feral forms of the primary Gods.
Dragon fyasel that are not Jchita dragons do exist, but they are extinct within Ur-ktan itself, as are any fyasel bigger than the size of a small elephant. The only exception to this rule is the sarcosuchus crocodile, but they only exist within Ur-ktan’s royal family.
