The second half of Norsen, the Royal Mount, located on the top of a tall mountain overlooking the main city of Norsen below. (Color scheme: gold, red, black, and sometimes white) It is somewhere between it's own city and a giant fortress where the royals and their associates dwell. The emblem of Norsen was taken from Kaylun. It is two of Kaylun's emblems laying side-by-side with their hearts removed.
The Norsen Dynasty was created roughly 2000 years ago with the fall of Kaylun, the founding dynasty of Ur-ktan. The Oracle at the time said that the city had become corrupted and cursed, so it was abandoned and rebuilt in Norsen (meaning "New Light", as opposed to Kaylun which means "The Eternal City" or simply "Eternity" or "Aeon"). Norsen was created with the express purpose of erasing the past and creating a new beginning. They heralded in a new era for Ur-ktan where the country got a new start after the fall of Kaylun, though was never as prosperous as the golden age of the Kaylun Dynasty.

After the fall of Kaylun, the special gift and power that had dwelled in the royal family since it's inception - known as the Golden Gilding - was lost. It was said that it was lost due a curse and would not be seen again until they corrected an ancient wrong, however when Idier was born gilded - the first golden crocodile since the fall - it was thought that the curse had been broken and a new era of prosperity was upon them. However, when he died on Ben Kaylun - an event that occurs once every 4000 years and resets the calendars back to year 1 - it was seen as an omen of things to come.
The Emperor grew paranoid and has not been the same since his eldest son's death, leaving the Oracle to call most of the shots and simply get the Emperor to sign off on it. |
