Historical Timeline
Basic History
The calendar of the Aeonic universe resets every 4000 years. Years 2 – 3999 are considered to be one Aeon. The next day, known as Ben Kaylun is considered to simultaneously be the last day of the previous Aeon as well as the first day of the next. This year’s number is also disputed. Some people will call it year 4000 while others will refer to it as year 1. Regardless of the number people use, the year following will always be known as year 2 – whether the previous year had been catalogued as year 4000 or year 1. (Only the first day of that year is known as Ben Kaylun.)
The term “Ben Kaylun” translates to “Day of Eternity” and is named as such due to the day taking place within two Aeons.

Prehistory
Much of this timeline is uncatalogued with any records remaining lost. This would include the time when the legendary Ur fathered the tribes who eventually united into the country of Ur-ktan. Ur was said to have been the first shapeshifter. He was a man who had the ability to take on any animal form he desired and who had an affinity for the five core elements of Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Lightning. Each of his children had the ability to transform into a single animal and possessed a single element.
Ur is said to have had 17 children. Four children inherited Fire, Water, Earth, or Wind respectively. The final child was the only one who carried the lightning element.

After this, legends speak of disagreements between the two gods, Fulfillment and her brother, the Nameless God. The Nameless God had grown bitter and spiteful of the world and the living creatures in it. He decided that he would do away with it all by turning the sun into a Void and casting the world and all of its inhabitants into Emptiness.
Fulfillmemt, seeking to protect life, rose to challenge her brother and the two were locked in a battle that created the Great Calamity and ripped the world in two.

1st Ben Kaylun
Fulfillment managed to overcome her brother and seal him in the fires of the Abyss. This battle took place in the Jchita Wastelands north-east of Ur-ktan and it is said that the Nameless God’s dark energy still lingers in the area and is why no vegetation can grow there.
It is said that four Fyasel, each representing one of the millennia it took for Fulfillment to fight her brother, helped the Goddess to gain the power she needed by harnessing the energy released by the earth on the sacred day of Ben Kaylun and sacrificing their own lives to give her the power to overcome her brother. Fulfillment gave each of these four a second life for their deeds and is said to have blessed them and their descendants with great powers. These four were Drakr the Wolf, Kohr the Fox, Yudak the Eagle, and Ideran the Crocodile.
After her brother was sealed away, Fulfillment created the ten Great Spirits to help fill the Nameless God’s absence. The spirits were known as War, Peace, Order, Chaos, Prosperity, Desolation, Luck, Misfortune, Knowledge, and Ignorance. However, even together, these spirits do not add up to the same power or influence the Nameless God had.

1st Aeon
Ca. 2-1999
Ideran – along with the help of the Wolf, the Fox, and the Eagle – created the country of Ur-ktan and built the capitol in the west by the Sangiv River. The capitol city was named Kaylun (The Eternal City) in honor of Fulfillment. The country was said to have been at its most prosperous at the height of the Kaylun Dynasty.
Ca. 2000
Corruption begins to infiltrate the Kaylun Dynasty as the Nameless God’s influence seeps in. Violence becomes more prominent in the country, but the Emperor does nothing to stop it as the Kaylun Dynasty has cast away Fulfillment in favor of her brother and are content to watch the country die.
During this time, there was much confusion and strife among the people of Ur-ktan. The Oracle of Fulfillment appears for the first time and warns the Emperor that Fulfillment is angry and they must repent to escape divine judgment. Emperor Idhyai heeds the Oracle’s warning and cracks down on a sect of people lead by the dragon, Karud, who aim to revive the Nameless God.
Emperor Idhyai grows more suspicious about the unrest in the country despite how the Oracle’s suggestions had helped to bring in more peace. The Emperor becomes paranoid about plots against him and his family and goes as far as to order the execution of any Fya who could stand up to his species (the sarcosuchus crocodile) in physical combat. Large beasts such as dragons and serpents, as well as any sarcosuchus outside the royal family, were hunted down. Many of the species were rendered extinct or close to it in this time. Eventually the Oracle pronounced Emperor Idhyai as mad with and Idhyai was assassinated by his own brother, Idukara, to stop the bloodshed, however the damage had already been done as anyone within the targeted species had either fled far away or been killed.
Idukara is asked to take over the country by popular demand and attempts to rebuild Kaylun, but it is soon realized that Idhyai’s crimes had left a curse on the city that would taint any who got too close to its secrets. Idukara then decides to build a new capitol in the south-east near the sea and names the city Norsen (New Light). Norsen’s emblem is a statement against the Kaylun Dynasty’s corruption where it takes two emblems of Kaylun and turns them on their sides after removing the hearts.

Ca. 2100-2200
The Oracle of Fulfillment tells the current Emperor, Idukara, that Kaylun’s curse runs deep through many generations and that they would have to stop people from going into the ruins. Emperor Idukara gives a decree that forbids anyone from entering Kaylun. Anyone who disobeyed the order would be executed with utmost importance. The Oracle then aided Emperor Idukara in tracking down and removing the people already affected by the curse.
Ca. 2300-3900
With the Oracle’s help, peace is slowly returned to the country and mostly upheld with the exception of a few minor insurgences. So long as the Oracle’s words were minded and people acted on what he said, nothing major happened and the country prospered. Nearing the end of this time, the Oracle tells the people that the Nameless God’s incarnation would be born in the city of O-jhenbel around the time of the next Ben Kaylun.
The Ktanic people also begin to notice how no gilded crocodile had been born since Idhyai. It was generally accepted that part of Kaylun’s curse took Ideran’s blessing away from the royal family.
3989
Idemni is crowned Emperor. This is the current Emperor as of the beginning of the series.
3992
Nabu and Iakuy are born. Their mother died in childbirth.

Uraide falls to the influences of Kaylun’s curse and is driven mad. He kills Prince Idier before vanishing again and throwing the country into another state of panic and chaos. Idexsa replaces Idier as the heir to the throne.
2nd Aeon
Ca. 4000/1-4
The Empire is unable to track down Zirar and Dumak who are said to have made a base in the Jchita Wastelands where no one dares to venture. Almost no one who has met Zirar after she fell to Kaylun’s curse has been seen alive again, and the few who survived claim she is preparing for the Nameless God’s arrival and seeks to awaken him.
Cornerstone Arekti was sent to track down and kill Uraide and his accomplices. The accomplices are killed, but Uraide remains at large.
4
The people have been nervous and uncertain about how to handle the rumors of the Nameless God’s incarnation. The Oracle tells them that they can’t wait any longer and need to remove his incarnation before his powers could awaken. People from various surrounding cities (mainly Azeijh, Norsen, and Shinek - as Traseq refused to take part) sacked the city of O-jhenbel and slaughtered anyone they could find. (This part is covered in the first scene of episode 1)
